Donate to help children-in-need from Chicago & the Midwest!

Join me on my 720-mile journey to help children from families-in-need attend Camp SAY: the life-changing summer camp for young people who stutter..

I'm Corey Caporale and BIKE/HIKE 720 is my personal journey that supports SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young - an organization that helps kids rise above the physical, social, and emotional struggles from stuttering.

On July 31st, I kick-off BIKE/HIKE 720! It's another year of biking from Chicago to Camp SAY, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. That’s 10 days on the road and more than 700 miles biked in support of young people who stutter. At the end of this journey, I'll ride into Camp Say to meet all of the incredible kids!

Join me every mile of the way and give a child who stutters the gift of confidence, communication skills and friendships to last a lifetime.

You can join my team in 2 ways:

Here's a picture of me riding in to Camp SAY and meeting all of the amazing kids!

It’s a tragedy that kids & teens who stutter are bullied for the way they speak. Literally silenced by cruelty that breaks their spirit and in some cases even crushes their will to live. Due to this misunderstood speech disorder kids often feel isolated and alone.  That’s why SAY established Camp SAY, and why for the third year in a row, I'm biking more than 700 miles to raise financial aid so children in need can attend camp next summer. Imagine a child who stutters looking out of the window at the neighborhood kids playing - being afraid to join them because of the way they speak. Camp SAY changes all that!

SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young

The Urgent Need
Over 70 million people stutter on a daily basis, including 5% of all children. Young people who stutter often face unimaginable fear and cruelty from a world that doesn’t understand them. Over time, they may recoil from the world, silencing themselves to hide their stutter, embarrassment and shame. Young people who stutter may also feel incredibly isolated and alone, and many face daily ridicule, teasing and bullying.

Since 2001, The Stuttering Association for the Young, a non-profit 501(c)(3), has offered comprehensive, innovative programs that address the physical, social and emotional impact of stuttering.

CAMP SAY
Camp SAY combines the highest-quality, traditional summer camp experience, with comprehensive activities and innovative programs that empower young people who stutter. We create a culture of acceptance and positivity where your child can enjoy the most incredible summer camp experience possible. This is what makes camp so transformative, and why so many parents and campers call Camp SAY “life-changing”.

This 2-week sleep-away camp (one-week and shortened stays are also available) provides a highly immersive summer camp experience that builds self-confidence and helps young people develop the vital communication skills they need to fully express themselves. Located in an idyllic setting, on a 500-acre, American Camp Association (ACA)-accredited facility, nestled in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Camp SAY invites kids & teens (ages 8-18), and young family members and friends to share an incredible camp experience together.

SAY: Confident VoicesSM
SAY's Confident Voices After-School & Weekend program helps young people (ages 2-18) who stutter develop self-confidence, build communication skills and establish important friendships. Created as a project-based program, Confident Voices provides kids & teens who stutter with an environment of acceptance and respect, where they can safely share their goals and ideas. The program provides a highly individualized experience to generate the most profound results.

SAY: Speech Therapy
SAY's Speech Therapy program offers a unique depth of experience, since we work exclusively with young people who stutter, (ages 2-18). We develop individual treatment plans, based on each child’s unique challenges and goals, and tailor our strategies for pre-school and school-aged children & teens. Our comprehensive services include speech therapy consultations, diagnostic evaluations, individual speech therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, Teletherapy (across the country & beyond), school and classroom presentations, youth support groups, parent groups, stuttering education, and more.
